Acmite, also known as
Aegerine, is a green fibrous mineral
seen here on a matrix of red and blue sodalite
with yellow cancrinite. The crystal shape of acmite is called acicular. That means that the crystals have the shape of needles. In this specimen, the needles are arranged like a fan or spokes of a wheel. |
