Gargoyles relate to Medieval Studies because they were found on many of the churches & cathedrals built during these times. Students will sketch photographs of real stone gargoyles as well as create their own gargoyle faces.

Gargoyle Portraits

Medium: own faces contorted to look like a gargoyle

photographed with a digital camera and printed as an art form -or-
black & white print of photograph on bond paper, coloured with pencil crayons (like a sepia wash)
