Dramatic Reading Aloud of a Short Story - 1 to
5 minutes maximum
 | Students are to choose a story to read aloud expressively to the class. |
| A familiar picture book like those written by Robert Munsch works
well. |
| While reading to the class, the student is encouraged to be in costume
and to have props related to the story. |
| The student is not expected to show the class the pictures in the
story while reading it. |
| Fluency and expressive reading as well as projection or voice are all
important. |

Term 3
| Historical Fiction Monologue
| Student are expected to read a Historical Fiction novel by term 3. They are
to select one of the main characters from this novel and write a 1 to 2
page script, or monologue which they will then read to the class. They
are to write and present this monologue in the first person. |
