Newspapers & Magazines

Students are encouraged to start reading local newspapers to get an idea of what is going on in their community.
Local newspapers like the Richmond Hill Liberal  carry stories that are about Canadians - although at a local level.
Newspapers like the Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail and the National Post have travel sections in them. As well, since they report Canadian news, any photograph in them about Canada is Canadian.
Many magazines published in Canada, like Macleans, Time and the CAA have advertising in them for tourism starting in the spring. As well, there are numerous TV ads promoting tourism for the provinces and territories. Often a toll free 1-800 telephone number is given. Parents can phone these numbers and have free travel brochures sent to their homes.
Travel agents often have travel brochures about Canada.
Tourism Kiosks along Ontario highways have travel brochures about Ontario and the rest of Canada.
