Other sources of information that can also be used

Culture Chart You will be given a chart that will organize the information you find out about your civilization. The chart needs to be completed. Point form notes are OK. This is a comparison organizer. It helps you compare your culture with the information gathered by another student.

Model, Diagram or Picture Make or draw one aspect of your civilization.

Presentation Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday of the week before Christmas Break

  1. You will need to do an oral presentation of between 5 and 7 minutes on 2 or 3 aspects of your culture that you find interesting.

  2. You may use 1 to 3 cue cards. Cue cards may not have information written out in full sentences.

  3. You need to be dressed in clothing representative of your culture and be able to explain about the clothing.

  4. You need to be able to point out your culture on 2 maps – the world, and a regional map. These maps will be provided.

  7. You may bring in other artifacts that represent your culture – real or make-believe.

Retelling a Fable, a Myth or Legend Find a fable, legend or myth from long ago, preferably the culture you are studying. Learn the story and re-tell it in front of the class during the Ancient Culture Fair.

Ancient Culture Fair Bring in food from your part of the world, dress up in your costume and make a display about your early civilization – like a bazaar or fair. This will be on the Thursday. Students need to entertain the class with their story-telling. Students may choose to do additional performances related to music, song, dance or drama – alone or in groups.
